2s Class
Well today was my first day with the 2s class. We had a few tears today, but once everyone gets acquainted I know it will go smoothly. The 2 year old students are so sweet! Today we drove cars in the motor room, played in the sensory room, and talked about the letter L! Students made the letter L with our Handwriting Without Tears tools and then practiced on a sheet. We also had another sheet today where we practiced our fine motor skills with a red crayon. We rounded out the day with a trip to the art room to paint with school buses. The children loved moving the buses around the table. I'm looking forward to seeing them again on Thursday!

Great First Day
We had a great first day in the Pre-K class today! Everyone came in with a smile which is always nice. At circle today, we sang "Look Who Came to School Today" (to the tune of Mary Had a Little Lamb) and the children really liked switching the names on the chart and singing their names. We also talked about our calendar and weather chart. The children really impressed me with their knowledge of the calendar!
During our social skills center today we read the book Words are Not for Hurting and talked about using nice words in our classroom. We also talked about compliments and played a compliment game. Next, we headed to the motor room to play "Bus". We sang Wheels on the Bus and took turns driving. One student "took" us to the beach! Math center, sensory room, and art rounded out the day. Check out our "wheels in paint" creation hanging outside our room in the hallway.
Pictures of the week to come once permission slips are turned in. Thanks for a great first day!
